Important elements related to a Domain transfer:
1. What is an Authorization (EPP) code?
The AUTH code (EPP code) is created at the time a domain is registered. Domain transfer requests must include the AUTH code to confirm transfer authority. The AUTH code can be found by contacting your current Domain Registration Service Provider and they must provide it to you. When moving away from us please provide this Auth code to the new Reg When moving to us please provide us with the Auth code from the old registrar.
2. What is a FOA form?
A Form of Authorisation is a very important document the owner of a domain needs to sign for transferring his domain. We are required to have a signed FOA for all transfers for the following type of domains: .com .net .info .org .biz .name 3. What is a TAG?
A TAG is a unique ID created for all registrars who handle .uk. domains. Nominet is the Registry for .uk domain names. Our TAG is ACTIVEISP-NO. So when moving a domain to us the losing registrar will have to change the existing TAG to ours. Alternatively if moving away from us to another registrar, the TAG must be sent to us to complete the change.
