Linux to Linux

when upgrading your package and is receiving a new platform, your website has to be transferred. It is important that you start by downloading your website locally on your PC or possibly an external unit. Thereafter your website has to be uploaded to your new account within the given timeframe to avoid possible downtime.

How to make a local copy from your Linux account:
The esiest way to download your website from your Linux account is by using an FTP client.
1. Open your FTP client.
2. Type your FTP username, password and hostname in by the FTP client specified fields. Login details are found in MyAccount under Web -> Get Started.
3. The content which you want to copy is mainly located in the “www” and “cgi-bin” folders, unless you have not stored data elsewhere yourself.
4. In the FTP client open the folder on your local PC where you wish to store the copy of your website. Now start the download of your website content.

Note:
 - The FTP client has to be set to “Active Mode” if the hostname is: ftp.newweb.active24.com.

2. Enter your FTP password in the login box.
3. You will now see a folder with your domain name as folder name. Double click this folder.

4. If you have a plain web site without CGI-scripts all the content should be uploaded in the “www” folder now visible. Double click the “www” folder. In the folder on your PC where you have your local copy. Press Ctrl+A to select all content. Go back to your web browser and press Ctrl+V to paste all the content onto the server.

The hostname when using an FTP client is always: ftp.newweb.active24.com

index.html, index.php, index.cgi, index.pl, index.xhtml
- The start page has to be located directly in the “www” folder.
